A NOTE FROM FR. JAY: Due to the snow storm a couple of weeks ago, many people weren't able to participate in Mass.  As a result our collection was down and expenses up (for the plowing of the Church & Center parking lots).  Anything you can do to make up for last week's collection would be greatly appreciated. HOCKEY FAN??  We are raffling off two tickets for the Bruins-Chicago game to be played on Thurs., Jan. 7.  Tickets will be sold after all Masses THIS WEEKEND.  They are $2.00 per chance, 3 for $5.00 and 7 for $10.00.  Winner will be chosen after the 11:45 Mass on Jan. 3.  This benefits our Youth Ministry.

YOUTH, YOUNG ADULTS AND FAMILIES are invited to consider joining us on Fri., Feb. 5 to Sat., Feb. 6 for an ALL NIGHT SKI PART AT MT. WACHUSETT.  It is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Boston.  This group will be the ONLY ONES AT THE MOUNTAIN.  It will start at 11:00 p.m. and finish at 6:00 a.m. on Sat. morning.  All trails will be open.  Areas of the lodge will be available for movies and games and "rest".  Mass will be celebrated at 3:30 a.m. followed by breakfast.  Cost is $65.00 for skiers and $35.00 for non-skiers. THIS  WEEKEND (JAN. 2-3) is an opportunity to replenish our food pantry (it is quite bare after Thanksgiving/Christmas).  We invite you to bring a NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEM with you to Mass next weekend.  We are particularly in need of mac & cheese, pasta sauce, canned veggies, especially corn, cereal, rice (boxed), soups, peanut butter and jams. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Now that the cold weather is here, it's a good time to pull out those knitting needles/crochet hooks & yarn.  Our Holy Family Parish has been most successful in reaching out the homebound, those in nursing facilities and those suffering from illnesses. Help us support men and women in their vocation of marriage, especially in difficult times when they join their sufferings to the Cross.  Help us uphold the institution of marriage in our society as the place where love is nurtured and family life begins.  Help us acknowledge that our future depends on this life and on your providential care for us.  Amen.

PLEASE PRAY for peace in our world, for our men and women serving in the military, law enforcement, fire protection and emergency services .Remember too our parishioners who are sick at home, in hospitals or nursing homes. Please pray that 2010 will bring many blessings to all in our parish.  Remember those studying for the priesthood for our Diocese of Fall River and those preparing to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony this year. Pray too for all our faithful departed, especially Richard "Boris" LaBelle,  whose funeral Mass was celebrated here this past week.  THANKS.
