HELP OUT OUR PARISH by bringing your GROCERY RECEIPTS FROM SHAW'S to Church with you each weekend and putting them in the boxes at the entrances of Church marked "SHAW'S".  They will give us 1% of the total amount of the receipts.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES: There are no classes this Sunday.  Grades 1 - 6 meet next Sun., Dec. 14 from 10:15 - 11:15 a.m. at Martin Middle School.

GRADE 9 STUDENTS are reminded that Dec. 7 is their last class before Christmas.  Please make sure you return your Confirmation Packets and Retreat Fee.  After Dec. 31, there is a late fee.  Those who volunteered to help at the LESSONS AND CAROLS CONCERT are reminded it is on Sunday, Dec. 14.  Call Karen at 508-824-3578, if you have any questions.

GRADE 8 STUDENTS must turn in their Retreat Permission Forms and Retreat Fee before Dec. 31.  After that date, there is a late fee.

GRADE 7 STUDENTS are going on a trip to LaSalette Shrine in Attleboro on Mon. Dec. 15.  We will leave the Church at 5:45 p.m. and return about 8:30 p.m.  Any parent willing to drive is asked to call Karen at 508-824-3578.

PARENTS OF CHILDREN IN GRADES 1 - 6 who would like to have their children participate in the live presentation of the Gospel on Christmas Eve at the 7:00 p.m. Mass are asked to bring them to the rehearsal on Sat., Dec. 13 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon at Church. HOLY FAMILY CENTURY CLUB MEMBERS are reminded that the monthly drawing for Nov. & Dec. is this Sunday.  Monthly dues are payable at this time.  As a result of our survey, the Dinner-Dance at the end of the Club will be scheduled for the new Parish Center.

COME ONE, COME ALL to our ANNUAL PRE-CHRISTMAS CONCERT entitled LESSONS AND CAROLS next Sun., Dec. 14, at 4:00 p.m. in Church.  It will feature the CRANBERRY BRASS QUINTET, a multifaceted group that melds many talents and a variety of musical experience into a cohesive sound.  Its members perform not only with the New Bedford, Plymouth and Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestras, but orchestras throughout the country.  Their combined talents enables them to play richly diverse styles of music from baroque to jazz, and classical to rag.  These fine musicians, along with several other vocal soloists and instrumentalists, will enhance the beauty of this rich, traditional service.  Invite family members and friends to join us.  No fee, but a free will offering will be taken.  ALL ARE WELCOME.

COMING TO OUR CONCERT THIS YEAR?  NEW THIS YEAR  is the opportunity to purchase LUMINARIA BAGS which will line the walkway of the church and be lit the night of the concert.  The bags are $5.00 a piece and can be purchased by calling Jeanne Grady at 508-824-2416.  They can be personalized in the name of a family member or friend.

AFTER THIS YEAR'S CONCERT, everyone is invited to the Church Hall for entertainment, singing, desserts and beverages.

THERE IS NO FEE FOR THIS GATHERING.

CHRISTMAS SHARING TREES: THIS WEEKEND,  DEC. 6 - 7,  there will be two Christmas trees set up with ornaments on them.  We invite members of our parish to take an ornament or two, purchase the indicated item on the ornament which will be used to assist families and individuals less fortunate than ourselves during the Christmas season.  All gifts must be new and wrapped and the ornament placed back on the gift and returned to the Church no later than Wed., Dec. 17.

THIS MON., DEC. 8, is the FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION.  It is a HOLYDAY OF OBLIGATION.  Catholics have the same responsibility to participate at Mass as they do on Sunday or Sat. afternoon.  Masses for the Holyday will be at 8:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  The collection taken up will be for the work of our St. Vincent de Paul Society among those in need in our own parish.

ANGEL TREES will be in Church again this year for Christmas.  Angels are available after all Masses starting this weekend for a donation of $3.00 a piece.  You can have a deceased family member or friend's name or a living family member or friend's name placed on the angel.  It will hang on the trees during the Christmas season and a Mass will be celebrated on New Year's Day at 10:00 a.m. for all those being remembered on this year's trees.

ADVENT PENANCE SERVICE in preparation for Christmas will be on WED., DEC. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Church.  Several priests will be available that night for the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession).  Whether it's been 2 weeks or 2 years or more,

GIANT CHURCH CLEANING in preparation for Christmas will take place on Monday, Dec. 15 at 6:30 p.m.  We only need your willingness to help.  Materials will be provided.  People of all ages are welcome. PLAN TO JOIN US.

WANT TO BE ON TV?  Plan to join us at the Church Parking Lot on Sat., Dec. 13 at 9:15 a.m.  We will drive to N. Dartmouth to tape the celebration of Mass for the Feast of the Holy Family.  It will be shown on Channel 6 on Sun., Dec. 28 at 11:00 a.m.  ALL ARE WELCOME.

WILL YOU HELP ENCOURAGE VOCATIONS BY PRAYING FOR THEM??  The opportunity is here this weekend for individuals and families to sign up to take home the vocation prayer cross for one week and offer prayers each day (prayer book is provided) for vocations. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Now that the cold weather is here, it's a good time to pull out those knitting needles/crochet hooks & yarn.  Our Holy Family Parish has been most successful in reaching out to the homebound, those in nursing facilities and those suffering from illnesses. KEEP CHRIST IN CHRISTMAS: Let's endeavor to proclaim the true meaning of Christmas, for ourselves and especially for the young. Some ideas: Use postage stamps with a religious Christmas theme: purchase an Advent calendar; make uses of a creche in a window or outdoors, place a lighted candle in the window; use bumper stickers that say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays". The same can apply to the Christmas Cards you send.

HOLY FAMILY MUSIC MINISTRY SUPPORT TEAM will meet this Sat., Dec. 6, right after the 4:00 p.m. Mass. Led by Douglas Medeiros and Mary Anderson, this session is for people who like to sing, enjoy music and would like to know more about the music we use here at Holy Family.  ALL ARE WELCOME.

BOSTON MEN'S CONFERENCE will be on Sat., April 18 and the WOMEN'S CONFERENCE on Sun., April 19.  Both will be from 9 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. with Cardinal O'Malley celebrating Mass at 4:30 p.m. each day. OUR SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND is to assist the RETIRED SISTERS, BROTHERS AND PRIESTS WHO BELONG TO RELIGIOUS ORDERS in our country.  For years these Religious worked for little pay and thus have very little retirement benefits (social security, pension, etc.)  The Catholic people in the United States (including those here in the Diocese of Fall River who donated $146,477.72 last year) have been extremely generous.  THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED GENEROSITY.

PLEASE PRAY for peace in our world, for our men and women serving in the military, law enforcement, fire protection and emergency services; for our President and President-elect, and all who lead our governments; for our parishioners who are sick at home, in hospitals and nursing homes and for all our faithful departed, especially Anthony Pacheco, whose funeral Mass was celebrated here this week.
